I was saddened to hear from my childhood friend Etti that her mother had passed away.
It has been decades since I last saw the woman I fondly referred to as “the Rebbetzin” but I will always remember her as a warm and loving mother who treated me like I was one of her own children.
At the Rosensweig house, a non-Jewish girl from a family of three was transported into another world! I was priveldged to be part of many celebrations and holiday feasts. Oh how I loved the sight and smell of the Shabbos luchzen kugel as it emerged from the oven!
May all her family and friends be blessed with wonderful memories of their own.
